About This Item
New York: Flatiron Books`, 2018. First edition. Hardcover. Fine/fine. First edition, first printing. A fine, fresh, apparently unread copy in equally fine dust jacket. Hardcover. 294 pp. with bibliography. Illustrated with photographs and reproductions. In the summer of 1980, a group of freewheeling comedy geniuses from Saturday Night Live, the Second City improv group,a nd National Lampoon magazine combined to make what many consider the funniest sports movie ever made---Caddyshack. The story began when three editors of the Harvard Lampoon decided to publish their revolutionary humor in the new National Lampoon magazine. The magazine became a publishing juggernaut, particularly attracting SNL stars like John Belushi, Chevy Chase, Gilder Radner and Bill Murray. After the huge success of "Animal House', the team turned its attention of stories from Bill and Brian Doyle-Murray's youthful summers working at Chicago area country clubs. The result was "Caddyshack" (1980). This book tells of the crazy, funny making of the film as cast and crew descended on a Florida country club to shoot the movie.
