London, Ingram, Cooke, & Co. 1852.. 296+[4]pp. 8vo. Original blind-stamped cloth with gilt decoration on backstrip. Frontis., title vignette and 6 plates. Cloth worn at extremites and a few marks on upper board. Some scattered foxing, mainly to early leaves. A very good copy.. First edition in English (First illustrated edition), translated from the German by Sarah Powell. Set in Texas at the time of the Texas Revolution.
