About This Item
Washington, DC: Casmir Bohn, 1864. 4th Edition . Pictorial Wraps. Very Good. Washington, DC, Casimir Bohn publisher. c1864, 132pp, 4th edition revised and enlarged, illustrated stiff wraps (approximately 6" x 3-3/4"), 132pp, with fold-out map to rear. Map measures 14-1/2 x 17". The covers show handling wear, there are 2 old pieces of tape at the top and bottom of the soft spine. The inside front and back covers have foxing, but the pages are tight, clean, and complete. The map is in excellent condition, with only a small tear above and below the adhered area to the back page. I believe this, among many editions, was a smaller version. The title page indicates there are "engravings" of public buildings included, as was in the 1856 edition. These were lithographs, and the only one included in this smaller edition is the frontispiece showing the East Side of the Capitol, depicting it as completed.
