London: William Heinemann Ltd, 1955. Second Printing. Hardcover. Very Good-/Fine Facsimile Jacket. light wear to covers, professionally rebacked with the original spine laid on, new spine label. Interior clean and unmarked, in a fine facsimile dust jacket. A copy from the library of Cyril Ray of Albany, London with his signature and bookplate. Ray, a resident of the very literary Albany from WWII to the mid fifties was the editor of The Compleat Imbiber, a periodical of wine and spirits, to which Anthony Powell was an occasional contributor. First published in June 1952, this one dated February 1951. Lilley A.9. Lilley notes a reprint of 3000 copies in October 1956 but fails to note this one. The second novel in the Music of Time series with an association to the Dance and Powell milieu. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. Hard Cover. We specialize in the works of and about Anthony Powell.
