Novato, CA: Lyford Books, 1992. True first edition. Very near fine in black coated paper covered boards with copper colored text stamping on the spine. The heel of the spine shows minor rubbing and there is a faint bump to the lower edge of the front board. In a good+ price clipped dust jacket with 1/2" deep chip 1.25' long on the lower edge of the spine area and with two short closed tears at the upper edge of the spine area with related creasing, an 1/4" chip from the upper edge of the rear panel and with rubbing to the folds. This award winning author published a sequel to this book entitled The Scout. This is the true first edition of this title. It was republished in 1994 by the Delacorte Press
