The Walter Scott Publishing Co. Ltd, 1111. Hardcover. Good. No Edition Stated. 1123 pages. Red cloth with debossed decorations and gilt lettering. Metal clasp to edge. Black and white illustrated frontispiece. Prize plate stuck to front pastedown. Both hinges mildly cracked, reinforced with brown tape. Binding throughout is firm. Pages have light tanning and foxing throughout. More pronounced to text block edges. Minor creasing to title page and Index page. Text is unaffected. Boards have moderate shelf-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Slight crushing with small splits to spine ends and corners. Cloth is slightly frayed. Gilt lettering is darkened. Faint water staining to both boards causing cloth to be slightly discoloured. Book has a slight forward lean.
