Original patterned cloth with brown title labels with gold gilt lettering to the front and spine. Deckling to fore edge and bottom edge. Minor bumping to the bottom of the front board and edge. Illustrated dust jacket has some chipping and edgewear, especially near the top of the spine and the corners of the front panel. Colour illustrations throughout the text done by Clarence A. Gagnon, as well as a black and white portrait of the author to the frontis. Internally clean and a very good copy overall. near fine This is the de-luxe illustrated edition, limited to 1000 copies, with the addition of a preface by Lord Tweedsmuir and 8 gorgeous colour illustrations by Clarence A. Gagnon. This classic work on angling is as much a meditation on the human condition as it is about fishing. A lovely book. 1940
