Good in rubbed boards/no dustwapper. 8vo. b&w and colour illustrations Boxing novel by the great French boxer and Light Heavyweight champion Georges Carpentier, being a volume in the uniform Cassell's Empire Library; four colour plates and numerous b&w illustrations by George Bates; no publication date, but a presentation plate to front pastedown is dated 13/12/22; street fight illustration to front board and illustration of boxer to spine, both in colour; heavy tanning to endpapers, and with offset of presentation plate, text block foxed and browned, presentation plate to front pastedown (worn top edge), o.w. Good throughout; boards rubbed and scuffed and with some wear to edges and corners (cloth worn through in places), spine rubbed and worn, in particular to head of spine, with some loss of titling.
