About This Item

Fredericton: University Press of New Brunswick, 1951. Book. Illus. by John G. Todd (dust jacket illustration). Very Good. Hardcover. First Edition.. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. A Staten Islander advertises for a housekeeper "from the Provinces," and sometime thereafter the pair of them end up in New Brunswick, where the beginnings of "an idyllic romance" continue to blossom. Spruce green cloth w/black spine lettering, 182 pages. Gently bumped/lightly worn corners/spine ends, previous owner's notation (place/date of purchase, his name, and historical note) on front end paper, another previous owner's upside-down signature on last end paper (apparently she thought she was writing on the first end paper -- you know how it goes when you've had a couple drinks too many), light tanning, in weary dust jacket w/chipping, rubbing, short edge tears, two triangular scrapes to spine, long vertical crease/scrape to spine, general wear..
