A report "To investigate and report upon the technical and operational aspects of those suggestions made in the Count of London Plan of 1943 which relate to the main line and suburban railway system of London, both surface and underground, bearing in mind that these suggestions are intended to contribute towards and form part of a comprehensive scheme for the re-development of the area in question." "The Committee should include in their examination of the problem any alternatives to or modification of the suggestions made in the Plan which the Railway Companies of the London Passenger Transport Board may wish to submit and should have due regard to the requirements of traffic and to the convenience of the travelling public, and to any schemes of improvements which the Railway Companies nd the London Passenger Transport Board may have in mind." A series of reports were published between 1946 and 1948 and in this period The British Transport Commission was established and set up a working party which produced this report in 1949. Blue paper covers with black lettering are darkened, lower front corner is missing and shelf-wear to upper and lower edges. Lower corners of pages are curling, pages are lightly toned but are otherwise clean. Stapled binding.
