J. Sharpe, 1824. hardcover. very good. Hardcover, bound in dark blue morocco leather, with intricate gold tooling to both front and back boards, and spine. All edges are gilt, all pages clean and tight in the binding, with hinges in very good order. It is one of a set of one hundred volumes, this being vols. XCI and XCII together in one book and complete in itself. Approx. size: 5" x 3.25". Hidden under the gilt, and visible only when pages are fanned out, is a finely detailed FORE-EDGE PAINTING, illustrating Tibullus at the house of Delia. Very good condition. Previous owner's bookplate attached to front pastedown.
