London: Printed by and for John Nichols, Son, and Bentley, 1817. A New Edition, very much Enlarged, and Embellished with Numerous Plates. Half Leather. Very Good. 9 1/4 x 11 1/2 inches. 4to. vii + 560 pages. Engraved frontispiece and fourteen engraved plates, many full page. Bound in modern half leather with marbled boards. Spine with red and green labels with gilt title and author. Other compartments with gilt ornaments and separated by double rules. Frontispiece brown, and some other pages toned. A very good wide-margined copy in a fine binding. A finely bound copy of this impressive treatise on the history and practice of British monasticism from the earliest time to the dissolution of the monasteries.
