London: Printed for T. Osborne, 1738. [2], vii, [5], 402pp. With a later engraved portrait of the author bound in. Contemporary calf, tooled in gilt and blind, recently rebacked, preserving contemporary backstrip. Heavily rubbed. Scattered spotting. The collected edition, with an added index, of English antiquary William Oldys' (1696-1761) bibliographical periodical. Only six issues appeared before the publication was discontinued, with each surveying both manuscript works from the libraries of great contemporary collectors and printed titles including several from Caxton's Westminster press, Pynson's Froissart, Scot's Discoverie of Witchcraft, Elyot's Boke, Bale's Acts of English Votaries and several classics of seventeenth-century antiquarianism.
