Sm. 8vo, orig. blue cloth, gt dec. to front cover; wear to head/foot of spine, and along rear joint (which is partly split), inner hinges cracked and slack, with residue of tape repairs and some damage where this has been removed. Occasional light foxing, plates clean. Previous owner's bookplate and typed address label to endpaper. One page of adverts at rear loose and one plate working loose.. First edition. Plates dated 1870. Uniform with the author's earlier work on British Spiders (1866).Freeman 3544..
