Later printing of this part of the 'Sac Prairie Saga', a fictionalized account of fur trader & leading entrepreneur of frontier Wisconsin Hercules Dousman, mostly set in Prairie du Chien. INSCRIBED on the free endsheet but not personalized by Derleth: "Sincerely, [signature]". Hardcover, full black cloth, green titling, gilt decoration. Light wear to book; jacket shows some edgewear, chipping, some loss at head of spine. Text clean; [8], 424 pages, endsheet map.. Inscribed by the Author. Later Printing. Hard Cover. Very Good/Good. 5¾" by 8".
