SCARCE ART DECO, CHINESE INSPIRED TALE was written by Julius Franz Schutz. IT IS BEAUTIFULLY DESIGNED & ILLUSTRATED BY AUSTRIAN ARTIST MARA SCHROTTER-MALLICZKY. SHE DREW THE TEXT AND USED LITHOGRAPHY FOR BOTH TEXT AND HER BRILLIANT ART DECO COLOR ILLUSTRATIONS.
It was hand-bound by Karl Scheibe. SIGNED BY BOTH AUTHOR AND ARTIST ON THE LIMITATION PAGE. This is copy No. 284 of 300. (German text)
Vienna & Liepzig: Wiener Literarische Anstalt, [1921], Limited 1st Ed. Small folio, publisher's green
cord-tied decorative boards, very lightly soiled, with lively and colorful dragon-patterned endpapers. Book is housed in the original decorated board folding box with a paste-down label in the center of box. Box is dust-soiled, light edge wear, spine tips hinge has some paper loss - but it is tight and in good condition and has done its job of protecting the book. Book is in VG+ clean and tight condition.
