Edinburgh: William Brown, 1883 A good copy of the limited facsimile edition of John Brand's work which was first published in 1701. Limited to 157 copies, of which 148 were for sale. This is copy 1. The plain cloth binding is sound, but with marking and there is wear to spine and cloth fraying to corners. It has the original title label. The contents are in very good clean condition. The contents are a replica of the 1701 work, with the addition of a small advert for Haco's Expedition on an initial blank, and a 2 page introduction from the publisher. The text has been printed on hand-made paper and page edges are untrimmed. 4 pages have some light brown toning. Preliminaries pp 1-18; text 1-240 with appendix 241-147.
