Ex-fencing master, Dick Darwent, due to be hanged in the morning, sits in a cell at Newgate Prison, while Lady Caroline Ross, rich and beautiful, celebrates her wedding to Darwent with a champagne breakfast. Boards are worn at edges and corners, small gap at top of spine; dustjacket is chipped, tattered and soiled. A placeholder or reading copy.
