New York: G.W. Carleton, & Co., 1882. Book. Very good condition. Hardcover. First Edition. Octavo (8vo). 453 pages of text followed by 2 pages of publisher's advertisement. Original green cloth binding with moderate shelfwear. Illustrated with 11 plates containing drawings of pioneer and gold rush scenes. Most of the plates have a small stain in the margin at the top edge, which also slightly affects adjacent pages in some instances. Cowan "History of California" page 154. First edition..
