The Macmillan Company, 1935. Hardcover. Good/Fair. Good+ ; Fair Jacket. 1935 reissue of 1923 edition. The Macmillan Company. NOT ex-library. Hardcover has blue-violet cloth-covered boards with black spine and cover lettering. Color frontispiece. Binding tight. Hinges NOT cracked. Corners and spine ends lightly bumped. Covers have light surface and edge wear. Marked out price and later price in ink on front free endpaper. Pages lightly and uniformly tanned but still supple. Pages clean and unmarked. 181 pages. Color illustrated jacket has tattered top and bottom edges, with several pieces missing from edges, as well as several tears. A few tears have been repaired on the inside surface of the jacket with archival document repair tape. Surface of jacket in the area over tear at top front corner is abraded, and the top part of the K in the title is missing; it appears that a price sticker was removed from this area. Dust jacket is NOT price clipped, showing original price of $1.00. Price on jacket has been marked through in ink and another price is also marked out. Series: The Boys Own Books. Carefully packed, shipped in a box.
