Red cloth, wraparound cover illustration by Heywood (slight shelfwear), w/ d.j. wraparound cover art by Heywood (small tear at upper fore-edge front cover, couple very small closed tears, edgewear, slight bumping to couple corners), still VG/VG- copy, w/ former ownership bookplate on front pastedown. First edition of this scarce Binfords & Mort title, offering an excellent fictional account of a trek over the Oregon Trail in 1843, based upon the famed wagon train led by Dr. Elijah White over the Trail, composed of over 100 wagons, 1000 men, women, and children.
