About This Item
Boston: A. K. Loring, 1863. Second Edition . Hardcover. Very Good-. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. Bound in blindstamped mauve cloth with titles stamped in gilt. Mild edgewear, rubbing and soil; spine sunned to light brown with fading to the lettering. Those familiar with this Loring binding, Alger collectors in particular, will realize this color is rarely found with the spine lettering legible. The spine is faded but still legible. Former owner's name and date (12-14-1864) neatly in ink to the front endpaper, otherwise unmarked. Only very scattered foxing to the text. Hinges solid. A clean, tight copy.
