[1919] Contains 8 colour plates, 32 full page black and white illustrations and numerous in text wood cuts. A series of short writings for boys on instructional topics such as camping - what to take and do -, how to navigate without a compass, the rights of the rambler, wildlife photography etc. Very interestng and some nice nature illustrations of butterflies, insects and so on. Corners worn, cover boards marked and backstrip replaced by a strip of heavy green tape. Some minor brown spotting inside, but this is minimal. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall.

Black and white and colour illustrations with black and white photographic plates throughout. Book has a slight smoky odour. Slight cracking to hinges, with exposed netting, pages remain attached. Pages and illustrations have light tanning and foxing throughout. Heavier to endpapers and pastedowns. Previous owner's inscriptions to front pastedown. Creasing to some pages. Boards have moderate shelf-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Light tanning to spine and edges with crushing to spine ends. Staining to rear board.
