In 1944 Marlene Heselden, nee Saysell, was a survivor of a V1 flying bomb, though badly injured. Despite spending more than a year in hospitals, and after other setbacks, she eventually won her way to Goldmiths' College Art School and obtained degree-status qualifications. Based in part on diaries kept since 1949, this journal is an account of her life from her earliest years to qualifying in 1963. With Bbliography and Appendixes.
