A collection of 12 essays and addresses by Lawrence Clark Powell (1906-2000), inspired by the literature of the Southwest and his own experiences in "the semi-arid land from the Pecos of New Mexico-Texas to the Salinas of California." Inscribed by Powell on the front flyleaf. Patterned paper-covered boards over a black cloth spine with gilt stamping. Faint stain to the front pastedown (the contents and boards are unaffected); otherwise very good.
