Boston, USA : Little, Brown, and Company, 1927. First Edition . Hardcover (Original Cloth). Good Condition/No Dust Jacket. Octavo (standard book size). Binding is tight, cover and spine fully intact Text body is clean and free from previous owner annotation, underlining and highlighting Endpapers slightly browned and interior pages slight browned around the edges Rough cut edges which have browned There is a split along the gutter at the title page revealing the webbing beneath but the binding is not affected. There is a small round dent on back endpaper which has impacted on some interior pages but has not torn the paper A. S. W. Rosenbach was an American collector, scholar, and seller of rare books and manuscripts. In London, where he frequently attended the auctions at Sotheby’s, he was known as “The Terror of the Auction Room.”

In Paris, he was called “Le Napoléon des Livres”, which translates to “The Napoleon of Books.” Many others referred to him as “Dr. R.”, a “Robber Baron” and “the Greatest Bookdealer in the World”. B & W photos
