The 138 fully described and illustrated books are grouped under the headings of Italian bindings; the single velvet binding; early French bindings; Claude de Picques; bindings with no significant tools; the Cupid's Bow binder; other binderies, etc. Demy 8vo (23cm). xx,(76),[iv]pp. Coloured frontispiece, Plates A-K (tools) and I-CXXVIII (bindings). Original rexine gilt; mild spotting of top edge, but a very good copy.
