London : Longmans, Green and Co. , 1889. Cloth. Very Good. 12" by 9". Walter Crane . A delicately and thoughtfully illustrated collation of quotations and poems for each day of the year. A beautifully illustrated and decorated calendar of quotations for every day of the year.Each page is beautifully decorated in red ink and each day has a specific quotation which can correlate to the day of the year of a wedding or anniversary. The quotations come from the writings of Shakespeare, Milton, Tennyson to name a few. The book is in recollection of the Prince and Princess of Wales's Silver Wedding day in March 1888.Frontispiece and 88 illustrated pages. The November 1-8 bound in reverse. In the publisher's original cloth and silver binding. Externally, fading and discolouration to the spine, with some fading to the extremities on the rear and front boards. There are also some markings to the boards and slight bumping to the head and tail of the spine. The front hinge is starting. Internally, generally firmly bound. There is some discolouration to the front free-end piece but the pages are bright and clean throughout. Very Good
