The Book Of The Thousand Nights And A Night - Complete Set by Sir Richard F. Burton - 1994: A Plain And Literal Translation Of The Arabian Nights' Entertainments

This is a complete 17-volume set of the Arabian Nights as translated by Sir Richard Burton (Not The Actor). All volumes are new and unread. All of them are sealed as shipped with the exception of Volume VII. These books were stored in a basement ever since they were published and even though they were sealed, there was some slight spotting/discoloration to the gilt page edges and the gilt on the covers, due to the moisture content of the basement. Volume VII was opened to see if there were any problems internal to the book. Apparently the gilt issues were the only issues with the set. The rest of the volumes are sealed in plastic. The plastic has hardened and dulled over the years, but the books themselves are in good shape.


Having looked around, it appears that sealed copies of this set are selling for &1,000 plus on various websites. Considering the problem with the gilt edges, I have listed what I believe to be a reasonable price for the set.



I have attached pictures of the set, and individual pictures of Volume VII to show the problem with the gilt edges. Volume VII is now contained in a mylar bag, which can be seen in the photos.
