About This Item
New York / Camden, Gloucestershire, England / Norwood, Massachusetts: M. Walter Dunne/ Essex House Press / Plimpton Press, 1904. Hardcover. Good. Folio - over 12" - 15" tall. W.H. Hooper & Clemence Housman.. (xii), 386pp., (i). This is the Authorized American edition of the Prayer Book of King Edward VII. Blocks for illustrations were cut by W.H. Hooper & Clemence Housman. Folio volume, bound in purple cloth, with gilt lettering and rule to spine, a multi-color coat of arms to front cover. Text in red and black and beautifully illustrated throughout. Mildly ex-library, with no library markings to exterior. Several small bumps to extremities. Some fading to spine, though gilt lettering is still easy to read. Several small black marks to covers. Minor abrasions to covers. Cloth at and near head of spine admits to tears and a small, heavily worn area, as does cloth at corners of boards. Several additional areas to exterior admit to some lighter wear, such as at tale of spine. Some light soiling and scuffing to covers. Mild tanning to paper. Binding is sound. Overall, remains a good, clean, sound copy with a nice interior and a more than acceptable exterior. Overall, volume maintains much of its original charm and is certainly a largely attractive copy
