Woodstock, New York / Chicago: Virginia Fitzwater/Norman W. Forgue (Black Cat Press) Volume 2. Complete in 8 numbers. As New in PERFECT condition but for just a touch of the unavoidable age toning (very minor) SEE OUR PHOTO. These are the original first editions, NOT print on demand or modern reprints. We have multiple sets available as they are publisher's overstock that we acquired decades ago and just rediscovered in our warehouse. They were never issued to anyone and don't have any address labels, chips, tears, creases, fading or any other condition problems. All are in perfect unread condition with pages remaining uncut along their top edge, where so issued. Volume 2 is complete in 8 issues. Numbers 13-20. April 1933 - July 1938. Numbers 13-16 were edited by Paul Johnston. Beginning with number 17, Irving Haas took over as editor. Vol. 2, Numbers 13-16 were issued April 1933 to December 1933 and published by Virginia Fitzwater. Numbers 17-20 were issued April 1938 to July 1938, published by Norman W. Forgue of the Black Cat Press. These numbers contains articles on book collecting, book selling, fine printing and related book reviews. Among the contributors are Lynd Ward [THE FUTURE OF BOOK ILLUSTRATION, with his wood engraving in red from "Wild Pilgrimage."]; Lawrence Clark Powell [ON COLLECTING JOHN STEINBECK]; Vincent Starrett [GISSING IN CHICAGO]; Harry B. Weiss; Will Ransom [on COLLECTORS PRESSES]; Lloyd Emerson Siberell [CHILLICOTHE'S DARD HUNTER]; etc. Includes an insert printed by Carroll D. Coleman at his Prairie Press, with comments on typography by the printer and a checklist of Prairie Press items issued. Printed with occasional color illustrations/type/devices including a full color woodcut by Paul Rohland from a cover of the Plowshare. Number 18 is complete with errata slip.
