About This Item
London: A & C Black, 1904. First edition. Cloth. Very Good. 11" by 8.5". Sutton Palmer. A beautifully illustrated, limited edition, work on Scotland. This is the De Luxe edition, limited to five hundred copies. This is number 161. Signed by Hope Moncrieff, the author of the accompanying text to Sutton Palmer's beautiful illustrations. Harold Sutton Palmer was an English watercolour landscape painter and illustrator. He specialised in watercolours of an idyllic rustic style. This work displays just a few gems of the beautiful countryside, lochs and castles of Scotland. In original pictorial cloth binding. Externally, rubbed to the extremities and joints. Bumping to the head and tail of spine. Small splits to the head and tail of joints due to rubbing. Boards are age toned, with several marks. Several spots and marks to the rear board. Hinges are starting but firm. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright. Light scattered spotting and handling marks to the first and last few pages. Otherwise just the odd spots to pages. Very Good
