Bomba recalls Cody Casson, who cared for him as a child, but was injured by an exploding rifle. Bomba tries to find out more of his early life, but neither Jojasta nor Sobrinini can help him. Bomba kills Japazy in the Abandoned City. Bomba finally learns about his parents, Andrew Bartow, an artist, and his wife, Laura, a singer. Although his parents had taken him to New York Bomba longed to return to the jungle. When his father goes to Africa on an assignment he is captured by cannibals. Bomba returns to the jungle to search for his father. It turns out that the pygmy child Bomba saved is a nephew of Azande, the pygmy leader. There is much more to the story. 212 pp..
