About This Item
New York: Doubleday, 1992. Uncorrected Proof . Large Softcover. Very Good Plus. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. THE NEW COLLECTIBLE! This is a Limited Edition Uncorrected Proof copy, often designated as an Advance Reader's Copy/ARC (though they are usually not technically the same.) As such, this small-print-run state precedes the First Edition - hence its collectibility. This large paperback edition appears to have the same size page-block as the subsequent hardcover. This thriller, set in Guatemala, follows detective Jim Fossler and Stuart Haydon as they try to locate the missing daughter of a wealthy businessman. The story is populated by American expatriates, corrupt military officials, and Guatemalan guerillas, plus an elusive woman quite different from who her parents thought she was. 417 pages. CONDITION: a solid, square, unmarked Very Good Plus copy with light shelf-wear, a hint of spine sunning, and a couple very faint creases on the cover. This attractive, collectible copy is now in a clear, protective polyrpopylene bag.
