Dial Press, New York., 1964. First edition. Octavo. pp xviii, 121. Laid in is the 16-page programme for the Actors Studio production of the play which was directed by Burgess Meredith and featured among the actors the author's younger brother David. This was Baldwin's second play and the first to be staged in New York.Signed on the front free endpaper by the author and also by his brother and two other members of the cast, Al Freeman and Diana Sands. On the same page is a gift inscription dated Aug. 8, 1964.Some faint spotting to front endpapers. Near fine in very good dustwrapper rubbed and slightly chipped at the edges.

Blues for Mister Charlie is James Baldwin's second play. It was published in 1964. It is dedicated to the memory of Medgar Evers, and his widow and his children, and to the memory of the dead children of Birmingham."
