Ex-library with all the usual flaws, marks, and stamps associated with that condition including a pocket and call number tag on the front cover. Wear and rubbing to edges of the covers with heavier wear to the corners of the covers including creasing to lower front corner. Covers are scuffed and moderately soiled . Pages are browned but not brittle. Few light pencil marks in margins and little underlining in text. 181 pages with 3 appendices (1. chronology of the Perry Expedition, 2. vessels of the Perry Expedition, 3. enlisted men mentioned in text) and footnotes. An interesting account of Commodore Matthew Calbraith Perry's expedition to Japan (1852-1854). Uncommon.
