Historical fiction: the story of the Union Navy and its crucial part in t he war, supporting Grant in the storming of Forts Henry and Donelson. A superb dj illustration that wraps completely around the book, depicting Union soldiers on a train at Dexter. Dj has min. wear t o edges and corners, but otherwise in lovely cond. New mylar cover. Binding is dk blue textured paper on boards with gilt lettering on spine. Spine has single gold start. Front has impressed wreath: N e ar-new condition. Endpapers front and back are two different maps - one of Pendo Scot County, Maine, 1861 - 1862; the other, The War of the West 1862. Both are double page and in mint cond. Text a s ne w.
