About This Item
New York: St. Martin's Press, 2012. First Edition. . Hardcover. Near Fine/Near Fine. The 27th novel in Haddam's intelligent, highly-praised mystery series featuring former FBI agent-turned-private-detective, Gregor Demarkian. This time Demarkian must pick up the case where the police have been left with two badly burned corpses -- a teenaged boy working at the exclusive country club and a middle-aged woman believed to be having an affair with the boy. The woman's husband is arrested and then it's discovered her body is really the corpse of an unidentified man, leaving a series of puzzles for Demarkian to solve to find the murderer. First Printing, First Edition (stated 1st with complete numberline). 6 1/4 x 9 1/2 inches, 282 pages in pink paper-covered boards with green lettering on the spine. A tiny light brown stain near bottom edge of fep, o/w boards and text are clean, complete and unmarked, not remaindered. The pictorial dustjacket shows only a touch of edge wear at the spine ends, no tears, no creasing or chipping, not price-clipped. A collectable copy of a mystery from a writer who gives the reader more than the usual blood-soaked, corpse-clogged thriller.
