London: Hutchinson, 1994. 2nd impression of 1st edition . Hardcover. Fine/Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. This is a 2nd impression of the first edition of this book of short stories, one of which features her most famous character Chief Inspector Wexford. The actor George Baker played Wexford in the dramatisation of her mysteries and this book is inscribed on the title page "for Louie and George with lots of love. Ruth". Following the death of his second wife George Baker married the actress Louie Ramsay who also played his fictional wife in Wexford dramatisations. Fine in black cloth with gilt titles to spine and a very good illustrated wrapper. Tiny crease to top corners of flaps.
