VG. marks & wear to covers; light edge-wear. spine top rubbed. top corner edge of textblock stained red; pgs clean. light toning to pg edges. inscription to title pg.. Color-illus. stapled wraps with white lettering. 64 pp. with 103 bw plates. Catalogue from the exhibition at the Pennsylvania Farm Museum of Landis Valley (Lancaster, Pennsylvania), held 1972-1973. With a foreword by Blanche K. Reigle and the introduction by John D. Tyler. Includes a bw photo of the J.W. Epley Blacksmith Shop, originally located near Gettysburg, PA but moved to the Landis Vally Farm Museum in 1968. Epley was a master farrier. Blacksmiths, however didn't make only horse shoes, and this exhibit included all manner of other practical items as well as decorative wares: shutter fasteners, pie cutters, Conestoga wagon tool boxes, hunting knives, meat hooks, andirons, beautiful hinges, and more. An enlightening look at life in the smithy.
