Faint remains of erasures on ffep, else clean bright and tight interior. DJ front flap corner clipped, but not price-clipped - original $2.00 price on flap. Clean and crisp with a few small chips and wrinkles on edges, but displays nicely in clean Brodart jacket. 224 pages. 1946 on title page and copyright page with no printings listed. Classic Hinkle dog story about a dog born on Jim Preston's ranch. Blackjack was the son of Bob Tail, he was the dog to take on the pack of wild dogs preying on the ranchers' cattle.. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/Near Very Good.
