8vo, original pictorial boards with cloth spine and tips, no dust jacket, illustrated, 207, [2] pp. Hinges weak and rear joint cracked, wear at extremities, some browning and aging, slight staining, paper spine label chipped a little. Black Majesty is Vandercook's story of Henri Christophe (1767-1820) a former slave who became a key leader in the Haitian Revolution. The work is illustrated by Mahlon Blaine.
