Name of former owner on front endpaper, otherwise unmarked, clean and solid copy. Red cloth covers with small picture of pirate and treasure chest on front cover. About one inch white abrasion on bottom of spine and slight bits of discoloration on bottom of front cover. Light even foxing or soiling from age inside covers and endpapers. Dust jacket shows normal shelfwear and missing about one inch piece on bottom spine, price on flap $2.50.

Hardcover. 8 5/8" X 5 7/8". v, 218pp. Moderate edgewear to unclipped pictorial dust jacket ,with small open tears to edges and extremities, chipping to top edge of rear flap, and light sunning to spine. Red cloth over boards, with pictorial title scene stamped in black to upper board and spine lettered in black. Mild edgewear to binding, with closed tears to tail of spine. Rubbing to edges of text block. Gift inscription dated 1949 to front pastedown. Mild foxing to endpapers. Binding is firm and sound. Pages are clean and unmarked. A quite handsome first edition of this historical junior novel written and illustrated by Armstrong Perry.
