Boston: Commonwealth of Massachusetts, 1925. First Edition. Cloth. Very good. Louis Agassiz Fuertes. 3 volume set, all first editions. Volume 1 (1925): Water Birds, Marsh Birds, and Shore Birds; Volume 2 (1927): Land Birds from Bob-whites to Grackles; Volume 3 (1929): Land Birds from Sparrows to Thrushes. Dark green cloth with gilt lettering on spine and front. On Volume 1, gilt lettering on spine is partly rubbed off. Volume 1 has previous owner's name in pencil. Volume 2 has previous owner's name and date in ink. Volume 3 has gift inscription in pencil. All 3 books have wear to extremities, especially at the top and bottom of spine. Set has 93 color plates plus numerous maps and smaller illustrations. Volume 1: iii-xlviii, 466 pp. Volume 2: iii-l, 461 pp. Volume 3: xiii-xlviii, 466 pp.
