Corners and spine ends lightly bumped and rubbed. Front cover has a small light stain. Text pages lightly and uniformly tanned but still supple. A few pages have light handling smudges in margins. The tissue guard for the frontispiece has a few light spots of foxing; some have carried over to the title page, but not the plate. One plate, the Bartramian Sandpiper, has three pencil lines tracing the foot of a bird.
