Publisher's full dark green leather, decorated with 22kt gilt, spine in five compartments separated by raised bands, gilt lettering in three compartments, gilt tooling (Frogs and Birds) in remainder, intricate gilt decoration on both covers, a.e.g., green moire silk endpapers, printed on archival paper, silk ribbon marker bound in, Smythe sewn, with concealed muslin joints. The Birds has two-tone illustrations by Marian Parry and an introduction by Dudley Fitts. The Frogs is introduced by Gilbert Seldes and has wood-engravings by John Austen. . The volume is in almost perfect condition, the silk endpapers are lightly sunned, otherwise as new; unread, unmarked, tight, square, and clean. FINE. . The 100 Greatest Books Ever Written Series.
