Pp. lxix, 384; 16 full page color plates from paintings by D. M. Reid-Henry and Roland Green, 15 halftone plates after paintings by Major Henry Jones, numerous text-figures, large color folding map at rear. Original dark green cloth, lettered in gilt on the spine, color pictorial dust jacket, lg 8vo. This work covers 342 species and subspecies that inhabit the island; only a small portion of these species are permanent inhabitants. This edition is a new printing of the work published in 1989 for distribution in Cyprus. The original London first edition was published in 1958. No ownership marks.
