Together with A Succint  Account of the Lives of other seven eminent Divines, and Sir Robert  Hamilton of Preston, who died about or shortly after the Revolution. As  also, An Appendix, containing a short Historical Hint of the Wicked Lives  and Miserable Deaths of some of the most Remarkable Apostates and BLoody  Persecutors in Scotland, from the Reformation to the Revolution.

Edinburgh: R. Menzies for T. Nelson 1812. 8vo. [iii], 2, 30, 551, xxxvi pp. Full brown calf with raised bands, red title label and gilt stamped lettering and Scottish thistle decorations to spine. Slight cracking and wear to edges and minor marks to boards, with a more recent bright spine. Binding firm. Offsetting to prelims and occasional spots throughout, pages slightly darkened. A classic of Scottish Church history, this book comprises biographies of Scottish Christians and particularly Presbyterians, dealing especially with their strivings with church and civil authorities; at the rear are shorter descriptions of opponents to the Presbyterian cause who met "miserable deaths". . Very Good. Full Calf. 1812.

Courier services available. We are also able to offer same day delivery within London postcodes for some orders - ask for a quote.
