Superbly bound by the master Portuguese bookbinder, Victor Santos in full black morocco with striking star design consisting of a center four-sided stylized star, with gilt "rays" emanating in all directions, continuing through the spine and then repeated on the back cover. Spine with gilt lettering. Large and beautiful gilt dentelles (two inches) and remaining beige silk moire doublures, as well full beige silk moire facing endleaves. Signed on rear denetelle, "Victor Santos." THIS IS THE SPECIAL LIMITED EDITION OF 60 COPIES. Original superb pictorial wrapper covers bound in. 30 mounted black and white photographs with captioned tissue guards. Alexander Sacharoff, (1886 - 1963), dancer, choreographer, painter and teacher, together with his artistic partner Clotilde von Derp, created his own form of modern dance, a kind of abstract pantomime. The couple also designed their own costumes, famous for their sophistication. Alexander Sacharoff and Clotilde von Derp are considered one of the most famous couples in the history of dance. Fine. Scarce thus.

Master bookbinder, Victor Santos, was the first generation of bookbinders in his family, and began as an 11 year old, apprenticing at a bookbinder workshop. Throughout the years he developed his own style and skill in binding, and is now considered one of the top bookbinders and gilders of his time from Portugal.
