Jonathan Cape, 1966. First Edition. Hardcover. Very good/Good. First edition. Price clipped jacket and the fragile, metallic material it is made from is rubbed, worn and torn around the edges. Some wrinkles and creases to jacket faces. Chipping to ends of jacket spine. Both liner flaps have creases and the very tips of the rear jacket's corners have been cut. Boards are straight and clean, with embossed design on front and gilt lettering on spine. Binding is tight and spine is straight. Very mild fixing to top edges of text block. Previous owner's name and date written on half title page and stamped name on front endpaper.
Synopsis

After having been recruited by Harvey Newbegin, the narrator travels from the bone-freezing winter of Helsinki, Riga and Leningrad, to the stifling heat of Texas, and soon finds himself tangling with enemies on both sides of the Iron Curtain.
